⏩ Round 13 ShortCuts
Ignore our tips. Trust our ShortCuts.

Wow. If you're in a tipping comp as well as SuperCoach…our thoughts are with you. The Commissioner went 0 from 5 this week and is now questioning everything — his instincts, his manhood, his password manager.

But hey, maybe that’s just proof of what they say: if you’re good at tipping, you don’t get NRL. Time to bin the tips and double down on the ShortCuts. We’re with you.

🧠 What You Need to Know
🔓 Lockout is Friday at 8.00 pm
👂 Keep your ear close to the ground for post-Origin injuries and mystery restings. All players are named — but how many actually take the field? Only your late mail gods know. We recommend SC Playbook on X and Instagram.
🤕 Tom Trbojevic has been ruled out — again. Consider this your regular Turbo warning. More on this from the Commissioner below.

🔎 Spotlight - Euan Aitken
Price: 534k
Ownership: 6.5% of the Top 10k as of Wednesday, 5 pm
Breakeven: 19
Position: 2RF / CTW
Fixtures: Warriors, Raiders, Bulldogs, Storm, Dolphins, Manly, Bye
The draw’s not amazing, but it’s consistent games — and importantly, no byes until Round 19.
In three 80-minute edge games this season, he’s averaging 72.3 with 59 in base. That base output makes him more or less fixture-proof and not reliant on attacking stats.
For context, last season he averaged 60 at the Dolphins (50 in base) across 15 games… with just two tries.
The dual is huge. That 2RF/CTW flexibility is golden through the byes.

🤵🏻♂️ Commissioner’s Corner
The Commish didn’t trade last week — despite the extra we were gifted. If you want to see why, check out last week’s ShortCuts.
The only real temptation was Purdue to Iro. Iro banged out a 101 (ouch) but is on the bye this week. Silver linings. So he is prayers up for Purdue to get close to that this weekend. Iro is still well and truly on the radar.

🙏🏼
935 points means a 🔻 to 5702 overall, but those three trades in hand feel like a win. Big C still has 27 trades + 3 boosts — the goal is a push into the Top 1k.
I like to hold trades back where I can. The extra information I get from waiting a week or two often outweighs the rewards for jumping on early, often too early. Being one week late is rarely a disaster. Going a week early when you’re not 100% sure opens yourself up to all sorts of potential issues. Just ask anyone who brought in Tom Trbojevic. If in doubt = hold.

Before trades
On the block 🔪 | Eyes on 👀 |
---|---|
Demtric Vaimauga (time to upgrade) | Euan Aitken (versatile and reliable) |
Payne Haas* (minutes and injury concern) | Keaon Koloamatangi (gun in middle) |
Tom Jenkins (high BE, wing outside glue hands) | Zac Lomax (workhorse, kicking, proven) |
Kyle McCarthy (cheap, good base, Best back soon though) | |
Jordan Samrani (dual, cash incoming) | |
Ethan Roberts (nuff, dual) |
*If Haas rests this week, the Commissioner will be selling.
McCarthy and Samrani are cash plays, but risky, especially McCarthy.
As it stands:
Vaimauga ➡️ Koloamatangi
Jenkins ➡️ Roberts
Highly likely ti change 27 times before kick off tomorrow
